Style is a very simple way of saying complicated things

Ok so unfortunately I don’t have a before picture of these shorts, but I made them, and that tutorial is here. I used a dark wash pair because I wanted a more dramatic effect, but chose whichever shade you please.

What you’ll need:

  • Shorts
  • A bucket
  • Bleach
  • Measuring cup
  • Gloves
  • Vinegar
  • A clip hanger

Mix two parts water, and one part bleach. I used six cups of water, and three cups of bleach. Be really careful with the bleach, use gloves, and wear shitty clothes, because this shit has a way of getting everywhere and ruining your clothes. Do this outside, or in the bathtub. And wash everything after you’ve used it!

Put the shorts on a hanger, and you can either hang them from something so they dip in to the solution, or just fold them over the side of the bucket so they are immersed at the desired depth.

Leave them in for at least thirty minutes, checking on them from time to time. Because mine were super dark, I had them in for a few hours. When they’re at the color you want, take them out of the solution and soak them in two parts water, one part vinegar for about 10 minutes to stop the bleaching process.

I studded mine too :)

Make sure that the first time you wash these babies you wash them ALONE! You don’t want the bleach to creep in on your other awesome clothes. Let me know if you have any questions, and whether or not this was helpful/sucked haha
